Ghostrunner 2 is the most literal neon cyberpunk game on Neon Verdict: a cyborg ninja sprinting along walls, slicing through a tower city to a synthwave soundtrack. It is fast, precise and unforgiving, and it has the site's single biggest price gap between stores right now.
One hit, and again
You play Jack, a year after the first game, facing an AI cult outside Dharma Tower. Enemies die in one cut and so do you, so every encounter is a short puzzle of routes, dashes and timing, reset instantly when you fail. When it flows, few games feel as good.
New for the sequel are motorbike sections, which open the levels out and give the pace somewhere to go, and Roguerunner.exe, a roguelike remix unlocked after the fourth mission.
A soundtrack worth the price alone
The score comes from Daniel Deluxe, We Are Magonia, Gost, Dan Terminus and Arek Reikowski, and it pushes every run forward. The art leans on red-and-cyan neon, rain and brutalist towers. It was nominated for Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2023.
Where it stumbles
The difficulty is steep and the story is thin. Critics split: the average sits around 79 to 81, with some reviews saying it overstays its welcome. It is rated PEGI 18 for graphic dismemberment and includes a suicide scene, so it is not one for younger players. On PC it needs an SSD and 65 GB.
Who should buy it
Players who love precision action and are happy to fail fifty times at one room. If that sounds like a chore, Stray is the gentler neon city on this board.

The checkout: buying Ghostrunner 2 in the UK
The standard edition is £34.99 on Steam and on the Xbox Store. On the day we checked, the PlayStation Store had it at £6.99, 80% off, until 7 October 2026, with the Brutal edition at £11.99.
There are three editions. Deluxe (£39.99) adds weapon and hand skins; Brutal (£59.99) adds more skins, a motorbike skin and the Season Pass. The Season Pass (£15.99) bundles four cosmetic packs and the Endless Moto Mode; the packs are also £3.99 each, and Endless Moto Mode is £5.99 on its own. Only Endless Moto Mode adds anything to play.
