Five habits of a careful UK buyer

  1. Pay with a card or a wallet linked to a card, not with money you have already loaded into a store, when the game is new and unproven: card routes keep chargeback open.
  2. Before buying a Deluxe or Ultimate edition, read what it adds. Often it is cosmetics and a few days of early access, not more game.
  3. Check whether the game is already in a subscription you pay for. Several of our twelve have been in Game Pass or PS Plus at some point.
  4. Screenshot the order confirmation. Stores refund faster when you can quote an order number.
  5. Set a monthly limit or purchase approval on any account a child can reach. Our spend limits guide covers every platform.
