Nintendo eShop funds
You can hold up to £340 in eShop funds and add up to £340 in 24 hours. Funds are not refundable or transferable and do not follow you if you change the account's country. Nintendo Switch Online renewals take eShop funds first, then your saved card or PayPal, and renew up to 48 hours before the period ends. Switch Game Vouchers stopped being sold on 30 January 2026.
Refunds
Nintendo UK's position is blunt: no refunds or exchanges for purchases made by accident or because you do not like a game. At checkout you agree to immediate delivery, which ends the 14-day cancellation right. Faulty content is still covered by your statutory rights through Nintendo Customer Support.
Pre-orders: the good news
Nintendo does not take payment until seven days before release at the earliest, and you can cancel a pre-order freely until then from the eShop's Pre-Orders menu. That makes pre-ordering on Nintendo the lowest-risk pre-order of any store.
